Baby Beginnings | Ella’s Nursery Part I

Well apparently at 29 weeks I should be getting pretty “nesty” around the house. I guess things have progressed slowly but surely and that’s why I don’t feel the mad rush to get the nursery done… and I have two more months! But it’s coming together, very rustic with lots of wood, white, warm grays and soft things. Her place of rest for the next two years will be a kanoe, and it should be here sometime next week! I have the perfect spot beside my bed… But we are a little unconventional, no changing table, no crib, no diaper genie… still debating on the glider idea, why are they so unattractive? Would love a rocking chair… so it’s just the beginning of Ella’s nursery. More to come!
Also on a business note, I will be taking sessions up to about the 15th of July so if you are interested please contact me so we can arrange all the details! After she is born, all of my Baby’s First Year Collections will have priority for the fall and I will resume taking limited session the end of September. You may have noticed a slower pace on my blog… gearing up for not having 100% blog time after Ella arrives and wanting to give you yummy treats Monday, Wednesday and Friday consistently. Ok enough business… back to decorating!

I recently found Rainbeau Mars through a raw food site and have since been so inspired to keep up an almost raw diet and daily walks and yoga practice. I love this photo and quote because it is such a great challenge… If not now, then when? When will I start making healthier choices? When will I get in shape? When will I have time with family and not work? When will I make living a full life priority? That time is now, not later. Especially if a baby is on the way…

12 Weeks and Counting… the MUST HAVES!

1. Arcona is an organic skincare line that not only works, but smells like heaven. A must have for making me feel like a goddess during my ‘me time’
2. Bellybars are an awesome pregnant snack for an on-the-run belly filler. I always have one in my bag for those busy days (which are getting more frequent lately!)
3. Jellycat is just the best and softest stuffed animal I have ever seen. The snowleopard? Irresistible and is now waiting for baby in the nursery!
4. The day after I took the pregnancy test I finally went to Victoria Secret for a fix to my sore beauties. The Body by Victoria was so perfect I wore it out with a huge (and audible) sigh of relief… the other customers must have wondered what I was doing in the dressing room! It’s the perfect pregnancy bra.
5. Bananas. I think I ate two a day for about three or four weeks. They are the perfect food to calm the tummy and keep up the blood sugar!
6. J.Crew basic tanks are the easiest layering piece, and I will be able to wear them for months to come! I stocked up on these babies in every color…
7. This book is a must have for those of you who want to eat healthy the natural way. Learn how to eat right for your baby and cook right for your kids!
**I also want to write a quick thank you to all my January clients… it has been the BUSIEST month of my photography career! Lots of mamas, lots of newborns and some delicious little ones. Sneak peeks from January will continue this week… with four sessions to edit in the meantime. So THANK YOU for letting me do what I love! And I look forward to those I will meet this month and beyond.
