I am finding that everyday clothes work well as maternity clothes (long tees and flowy tops) but when it comes to dressing up it is a CHALLENGE. I have many clients ask me where to shop for their maternity photo session and I am afraid I don’t have much to offer! I know the basics like Isabella Oliver, Designer Maternity, Target Maternity, Nordstrom Maternity, A Pea in the Pod and a few you may not know such as jessica iverson at maternity bride for gorgeous formals, Diane von Furstenberg’s stretch netting dresses and James Perse for yummy cotton dresses, shopstyle for variety of dresses, but rayon and satin just don’t seem to fit my photography style. I want earthy colors, long flowing dresses and skirts that are comfortable, possibly even cotton… are there any out there? Can they hear me? If you know of great place for maternity gowns or even just apparel that works for maternity please leave a comment or e-mail me!! In the meantime I will keep searching…

Can you believe that this session was the gorgeous mama’s first professional photo shoot? Me neither. Both of these lovelies are natural beauties and natural models! We had so much fun walking around and finding sweet photo spots together. The light was unbelievable and the air a bit chilly, but these photos just say it all…. this session literally melts my heart. I love it!

This gorgeous session started out as a vision last fall. I really wanted to do a session at the harbor! When I met J it was a perfect fit. On the day of the session a sweet couple made our dreams come true and let us walk right next to the boats. Then we hit up the retaining wall to get to this amazing rock bed protecting the harbor. The tide was high and the waves were crashing over the wall! And subsequently over MY HEAD! Literally. I looked like a wet rat. Thank God my camera is still functioning! Anyway, this is our adventure…

This session was just breathtaking. Everywhere we went, each new pose just made me drool with delight! The sunset, the light… the gorgeous perfectly round belly… it was heaven. And she had a healthy beautiful boy 5 days after our session (who I get to photograph this week!)!

I can’t wait to share with you the images from this gorgeous pregnancy session! At three days until her due date, this precious haute mama was up for anything and looked absolutely perfect. This is one of my favorite spots… in black and white it just drips enchantment. Enjoy!

How sweet is this family!? We had so much fun, little Sam with her doe eyes, Lollipop running around our feet, mama’s gorgeous belly and the sun perfectly setting over the ocean. P.S. Sometimes I REALLY wish for fall leaves and white snow… this was as close as SB gets

I met this family through Yellow Bird Music last summer and we had so much fun in their last session. Oliver is a delightful handful and I can’t wait to meet baby no.2! The sweater he wore is just too cute, he almost belongs in a children’s catalog. And I just love this face (below)… it reminds me of the freedom a child has in expression, silliness and love. What a great place to be.
