Meet My Sweet Intern | Brittany
March 30, 2010
I was pleasantly surprised when this sweet one asked me if I would take her on as an intern this Spring. Of course like many photographers I doubted my ability to teach her anything (and everything!). Well it turns out that she has been teaching ME a few tricks as well, which has been a blessing. With a baby on the way, my brain is not always 100% and she is right there to keep it at 99.9%! Hopefully you will meet her in your pre-sessions or your sessions with me and love her too. In the meantime, here are some portraits we did this week to learn about light… isn’t she gorgeous!?

Baby Love, you are 19 weeks B.B. (before birth) and are growing so much! I am still waiting for your first little kick to tell me that you are getting strong. We are moved into our new home where you will be born and it’s beyond what we could have imagined for you… a yard to run in, trees to pick oranges from, neighbor pups to play with and a perfect route for walks… loving you.

Sleeping Wonder | Wallet boxes
March 23, 2010
I just received this in the mail on Monday and thought it was oh too cute for words. The DUO+ Collection includes a set of wallets, which are now neatly boxed for sharing… if my baby is this adorable I think I would send a little box full of photos to everyone I know too! Doesn’t he look like he is actually sleeping in a box? I love it.
P.S. Workshop details coming this week as well as a new contest on MONDAY!

Sick Days
March 20, 2010
What to do when you have a cold, you’re pregnant, it’s a gorgeous day, your hubby is at work and you don’t feel like doing ANYTHING… pick up the magazine you’ve been meaning to read for weeks, cut up some fresh apples and swiss cheese, keep the TP handy for nose drips and just relax. Ahhhhh…

Lucky | The Album
March 19, 2010
I just received this beauty in the mail today. It fits perfectly on my gorgeous chair in the bedroom, but alas this album belongs to the mother of this special newborn. I can’t get enough of these albums, they are included in all of my collections and I want several myself (and my baby isn’t even here yet!).

Children’s Book Month | Week Three
March 15, 2010
Well this week is a timeless tale… The Giving Tree. I loved this book even though it was sad and just makes your heart melt. Shel Silverstein is one of my favorites in general, I used to read his poems all the time… it let my imagination be free! What words and images he uses. It’s quite amazing really. As I am planning our baby’s nursery, this book has a special place on the shelf. Why? Because baby is getting MY copy, already loved and worn in.
P.S. We are moving today! (finally). Wish us luck as we get cozy in our new country place!

Your intern is certainly a lovely and very talented young woman. I should know-I’m her step-dad. Thanks for posting the pictures.
By the way, my favorite children’s books are Mercer Mayer’s Little Critter series. I’m a special ed teacher working with visually impaired kids. The Little Critter books not only have a nice message in each book, but every page has either a mouse or a grasshopper and spider somewhere on the page, depending on the book. If I’m working on developing visual scanning skills with a young child, I ask them to find the mouse, grasshopper or spider on each page. Sometimes it’s easy to find, but sometimes, only a portion is visible. The kids seem to enjoy this and it helps develop visual scanning and localization in kids who can see, but not too well.
I hope all is going well with your pregnancy. Congratulations.
