In the Details

November 30, 2009

Well it’s been a busy weekend! This is the first time I haven’t posted in over two days. I hope it’s well worth the wait! This little monkey’s hair was just awesome! More coming this week… Also, I am doing a giveaway this week on a wonderful website called the creative mama. There you will find great articles, eye candy, inspirations and DIY. Check out her vision and enter the contest here!

Also my hubby and I are going up to Portland, OR this week to see family and take some time to get in the Christmas spirit (I LOVE the city during the Holidays!). I will take a few sessions while I am up there if anyone is interested. I know it is last minute but sometimes that’s how these things happen! E-mail me at info@megfishphotography.com.

Merry Christmas from my website…

November 25, 2009

Just in time for peppermint lattes and when we break out the scarves and uggs (if only crisp cool weather would finally arrive!)… Merry Christmas from my website! Tomorrow my husband and I are getting our OWN Christmas portrait done, which means I get to create another gorgeous Christmas card (I will post sneaks soon!). In the meantime, please visit my couture portraiture website even just to listen to the brand new song… my heart just melts inside.

D is for Desmond

November 24, 2009

I am finding myself falling more and more in love with black and white again. When I first learned the camera I was fascinated by getting the perfectly toned black and white (in film of course). Now it is a challenge all over again with digital, but it is so sweet! Sometimes newborns just look like angels in black and white. And so here is Desmond, in the 5 minutes of dreamy newborn yumminess we had the whole hour. But I have to say… it was absolutely worth it every second…

Sweet Samantha

November 20, 2009

How sweet is this family!? We had so much fun, little Sam with her doe eyes, Lollipop running around our feet, mama’s gorgeous belly and the sun perfectly setting over the ocean. P.S. Sometimes I REALLY wish for fall leaves and white snow… this was as close as SB gets :)

Rachel Ashwell | Santa Barbara Book Signing

November 18, 2009

Last night I was privileged to meet Rachel Ashwell, founder and creator of the Shabby Chic world. For those of you who don’t know, she has had an incredibly tough past few years and amidst all of it has come out (it seems) for the better. She was very honest to share her heart in writing the book (incredible, btw) and also what has helped her keep going. I believe that Shabby Chic has entered an even more gorgeous and nostalgic era… something that cannot be replicated. She is a true style icon and an artist, and her book reflects that passion and dream. Her newly re-opened Santa Monica store is just delish… Here is a quote she shared last night:

“The ability to simplifiy means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary can speak.” -Hans Hofmann

One more makes Four

November 17, 2009

I met this family through Yellow Bird Music last summer and we had so much fun in their last session. Oliver is a delightful handful and I can’t wait to meet baby no.2! The sweater he wore is just too cute, he almost belongs in a children’s catalog. And I just love this face (below)… it reminds me of the freedom a child has in expression, silliness and love. What a great place to be.

I love the photo of dad and Oliver kissing mom’s belly with baby #2. You captured such a moment of love.

Sweet Spaces | Home Studio

November 16, 2009

For those of you who haven’t seen my sweet little studio space or just need a little wall inspiration, here is my canvas wall. These canvases are 24″ X 40″ and they fill the space perfectly! Canvas gallery wrap prints are a great way to show your portraits more artistically (and no need for deciding on a frame!). Also this week will be full of sneak peeks! I can’t wait to show you what I have been working on…
