Happy ‘Punkin’ Day

I love Yellow Bird Music and frequently pop in for a mini session or two with little ones such as these (past images featured on her site)! The baby on the bottom was not necessarily in costume, but you know how I am with newborns… please check out Alex’s website for details on her wonderful music and learning classes. She is truly one of the most talented women I have seen with children and they really DO learn! Happy ‘Punkin’ Day!
Simplicity

I went on a women’s retreat this weekend with Reality Carpinteria (my fabulous church). It was amazing, refreshing and the air was crisp. I didn’t take many photos but pulled out my camera the last morning for a few shots of the gorgeous leaves that surrounded me like wallpaper. This one I love the most… all by it’s lonesome near the parking lot. I am finding more and more that I am a simple person, I like simple things… well except for grande toffee nut soy lattes. The busier I get the more I appreciate these small moments. I think that is what I love most about portraiture… the ability to freeze a moment to make it last longer than it ever would have. This moment calms my heart and reminds me that I am just a small piece of the world. And I like it that way.

Yesterday was the first weekday I have missed a blog post in weeks! So many wonderful sessions and so little time… This newborn was absolutely delicious. He just was content with almost every pose (which made me happy!)… sleeping in the precious newborn way. If you didn’t see the gorgeous pregnancy portraits, check them out too! Happy Friday! I am going away this weekend for some fresh air, friends and some rest, but couldn’t leave you without an image that makes me smile. I have an exciting project in the works for next week and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Cheers!
Sweet Three’s

This was such a fun and challenging session! With bubbles and lollipops and trucks and pumpkins… these three are sweet each to their own. Olivia has a powerful presence and gorgeous hair (like mama!). Dallas played the James Dean role perfectly… ever so often just turning his head to look at the camera like a true rebel! And once Jaden and I became friends he was my camera’s friend too! He let me know that it was broken a few times… lol. Enjoy!

I love Rose & Ruby, and recently went back to peruse their website and realized I didn’t even look at their Summer 2009 collection… I was missing out.
